The photo policy: what a portrait here promises, and what it never shows

Portraits, compared in person

A portrait on this site makes one promise: the woman who arrives is the woman in the photographs. Everything below exists to keep that promise, and to protect the privacy of the women who make it.

The imagery is glamour and lifestyle photography. Faces are softened. There is no nudity, anywhere.

P // the standard

Four rules, no exceptions

rule 01

Glamour and lifestyle

Styled portraits and lifestyle frames. Nothing staged beyond that.

rule 02

Faces softened

Each face is gently blurred, for her privacy as much as yours.

rule 03

No nudity

Not on a file, not in a thumbnail, not anywhere on this site.

rule 04

Compared in person

Octavia holds each set up against the woman herself, at a meeting, before anything is published.

01 // portraits

What the sets show

An evening dress, an interior, a window, a street at dusk. The portraits show how a companion looks and carries herself on an evening out, and nothing is posed to suggest more than company. No image is published without her agreement, and every one appears on the introductions exactly as she approved it.

02 // portraits

The comparison, in person

Before a file opens, Octavia meets the companion and holds each image beside her: face, height, hair and build. Anything that no longer matches, a colour grown out or a length cut short, is set aside. The age, height and languages on her file come from that meeting and from her identification, never from a questionnaire. About the house explains how that first meeting comes about.

03 // portraits

Why every face is softened

Each face is gently blurred. It protects her privacy in a city where she has a life beyond these pages, and it is a courtesy to you as well: a guest seen with her in a lobby is seen with no one anybody can place. The likeness lives in the height, the hair, the build and the manner, which is exactly what the comparison checks.

04 // portraits

Keeping each file current

Appearances change, so the check is repeated whenever a companion alters her look noticeably. A set that has drifted is withdrawn until new portraits replace it, however flattering the old ones were. A file is never padded with stale images for the sake of a fuller page.

05 // portraits

Refused, without exception

Nudity, and posing that suggests it. Pictures from a stock library or from another woman's portfolio. Faces or figures produced or altered by software. Any portrait kept on a file after it has stopped resembling her.

06 // portraits

Her images belong to her

A companion may ask for a single portrait, or her whole file, to come down whenever she chooses, and she owes nobody a reason; the request is carried out promptly. How the site treats your own details is set out separately in the privacy notice.

On the portraits

Brief answers, kept on file. Octavia answers anything further in writing.

Ask Octavia

Light, colour, a crop and the blur on the face. Nothing that alters her shape, her skin, her features, her height or her apparent age.

Yes. Her age comes from identification seen in person, and her height from the meeting itself. Every companion on file is over eighteen, and each age is shown as it stands today.

Tell Octavia straight away, in the same chat. She looks into it with the companion and withdraws any portrait that has drifted, which is the only way the promise at the top of this page stays worth anything.

The house

Introductions, never a catalogue

Every companion here has sat down with Octavia before her portraits went up. Write, and she will introduce the one she thinks right.
